Here you can find the rules and regulations for entries in the Leeds DA's Annual Bogie Race.
The construction should be predominantly of wood adopting the traditional idea of bogey building, namely a form of transport made in the back yard using any wood you can lay your hands on, some screw, nails, a piece of rope and four wheels. It is up to the individual to develop the construction but seriously, we are looking for traditional design with a few mod-cons and not an F1 model.
It should be designed to carry one person
It should be manpowered, mechanical propulsion shall not be allowed.
It shall have a drivers seat.
It shall have a number plate measuring 75mm x 75mm (3” x 3”) fixed to the front of the bogey in a prominent position.
Wheels:-
It shall have 4 wheels, preferably one at each corner.
Wheels do not necessarily have to be the same size all round.
There is no restriction on the type of tyre to be used.
Maximum dimensions:-
Overall length 1530mm (5’ 0”)
Overall width 920mm (3’ 0”)
Minimum ground clearance 50mm (0’ 2”)
Overall diameter of wheels 650mm (2’ 2”)

ALL COMPETITORS SHOULD EXAMINE THESE DETAILS AND BRING ANY DISCREPANCIES TO THE ATTENTION OF LEEDS DA’S COMMITTEE PRIOR THE CONSTRUCTION.
GENERAL RULES OF ENTRY:-
Entries are sought from 2 person teams and each team member MUST compete in each run.
Individuals can only be in one team and only use one bogey.
Each bogey can be used by no more than two teams.
All competitors MUST be Camping and Caravanning Club members and be over 12 years of age. (There is no upper limit!)
All competitors enter this event at their own risk. Leeds DA and The Camping and Caravanning Club cannot be held responsible for any injuries incurred while participating in or watching this event.
In the interest of safety, all competitors MUST wear protective clothing, a crash helmet and gloves.
